By using peikoff.net or the Atlas of Objectivism, or by creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Exploring the Atlas is free and needs no account. The optional chat plan lets you talk with AI characters based on people in the Atlas. We may change, limit or stop any part of the service at any time.

AI characters are not the real people

Characters are artificial-intelligence simulations written from public information. They are not the real people, do not speak for them, and are not endorsed by them. Replies can be wrong, outdated or invented. Nothing they say is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Read our AI disclosure.

Accounts

You must be 18 or older and give accurate information. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Tell us if you suspect misuse.

Paid plan, billing and cancelling

• The chat plan costs $5 per month (US dollars, plus any taxes) and renews automatically each month until you cancel. Stripe processes payments.
• Cancel any time by typing /billing in the Atlas (or from the menu) to open the customer portal. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
• Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires. If something went wrong with a charge, email us and we will look at it fairly.
• We may change the price or plan with advance notice; the new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
• Promotion codes and free periods may be changed or withdrawn.

Usage limits

To keep the service sustainable, the plan includes a daily and a monthly usage allowance, measured by the cost of the AI processing your questions (longer conversations and longer answers use more). Answers have a length limit. When you reach a limit, chat pauses until it resets. Limits may change.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law; harass, threaten or defame anyone; pretend to be someone else or present a character's words as the real person's; attack, overload or probe the site; scrape it in bulk; get around usage limits or payment; try to extract hidden instructions or models; or send content that is illegal, hateful, sexual involving minors, or that infringes others' rights. We may suspend or end accounts that do, without refund.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you type. You give us permission to store it, process it with our providers, and review it to run, secure and improve the service. Do not send sensitive personal information.

Our content

The Atlas, the site and its original content are © 2026 Ason Peikoff and may be reproduced with attribution. Some 3D models and third-party materials are used under their own licences and credited where required. Names and marks of other people and organizations belong to them and are used to identify them.

Information about people and organizations

Atlas data comes from public sources and may contain errors. If you see something wrong, or want an entry corrected or removed, email us. We respond to genuine copyright notices sent to the same address.

Disclaimers and limits of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before it arose. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Ending

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access for breaking these terms or to protect the service.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction, except where your local law gives you the right to go elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make significant changes we will update the date above and, for account holders, tell you. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
